Stratford Energy Solutions, a Midlands-based solar energy specialist, and Bannister Ventures have joined forces to create a new buy and build vehicle which aims to become a leading force in the green energy market.
Established in 2010 in Stratford-upon-Avon, Stratford Energy specialises in the installation and upkeep of solar panels, electric vehicle charging stations, and energy storage solutions, with a primary focus on the Midlands region.
Stratford Energy’s founders, Jason Savidge and Andy Hollis will retain their roles overseeing operations and maintain positions on the board.
The company, currently employing 20 individuals, has experienced rapid growth, nearly tripling its revenue over the past three years.
Bannister Ventures, based in Birmingham, is led by Jonathan Watt and David Thomson, who bring over 25 years of leadership expertise, particularly in the energy sector.
Watt and Thomson will focus on driving strategic progress for the overall energy group, which includes executing a complementary M&A strategy.
Jonathan Watt of Bannister Ventures said: “Solar remains the fastest-growing renewable energy, and will be increasingly popular with residential and commercial users alike. The current market is highly fragmented. We see the opportunity to create a national player offering a fully integrated solution to both residential customers and to SMEs and commercial users, to support them on the journey to net zero.”
This investment was facilitated through debt funding from Triple Point as part of a fundraising effort spearheaded by debt specialist Altimapa Capital.
Altimapa Capital will continue to back the buy-and-build strategy in forthcoming transactions.
